Lift Off
July 10, 2003 // San Francisco, California - 9:02 pm
After laying low in the motel for a few days, Onika and Aubrey decided that it is now time to rob the bank. They've been waiting in the car for almost an hour just to make sure that the coast was clear and that everyone left the building. Including the janitors.
"Babe I think everyone left now. We should go in." Onika suggested.
They were both dressed in all black with masks and guns. Onika pulled her long dark curly hair into a ponytail and they both put on their gloves before getting out the car. Aubrey followed their lead. She led them to the back door jingling the handle so it would open.
"It has a lock on it." Aubrey said in fustration.
"Check my left back pocket for a hair pin. You unlock the lock and I'll knock out the alarm system right here."
Aubrey proceeded to do as he was told. Once he unlocked the lock, Onika knocked out the alarm system and they entered the bank.
"Go kill all the cameras that you can find. And I got the security gaurds." Onika nodded and the couple shared a quick kiss before going seperate ways.
Onika scurried across the floor trying to kill the first camera that she saw. It was a camera in each corner of the building. Also in the front and back entrances. She heard gunshots making her smile.
Aubrey in the other hand walked slow and smoothly creeping up on the security guards shooting each one of them in the head. He smiled at his handy work and used a cloth to wipe his gun off.
Onika quickly found Aubrey after finding the last camera.
"Did you get all the gaurds?" She whispered.
Aubrey nodded. "Yeah it was only a few of them. Now help me get the bodies to the dumpster. I gotta clean up the mess I made." He smirked making his girlfriend giggle softly.
Once the bodies were well hidden in the dumpster, the couple quickly made their was back to the bank and walked behind the counter.
"Aubrey it's almost midnight. They open back up at six. We gotta hurry up." Onika said in a worried voice.
"It's okay. Just open all the registers and get whatever money you can find. Then go in the back and steal the money in there. I'll try to get this safe opened."
"Okay." Onika went through all twelve registers at the counter and stole at the money. She went to the back and stole about as million dollars. Aubrey made his way over to the large safe and punched in the first four digits that came to his head.
"One, two, three, four." He mumbled to himself. The safe lit up green and unlocked. "You gotta be fucking kidding me. Easiest fucking safe code. Idiots." Aubrey chucked before calling Onika over to help him dump the money in his dufile bag because her's was already filled.
"Woah! Aubrey we hit the fucking jackpot!" Onika exclaimed in a hushed tone. Her eyes widened at the sight.
"We need to take about ten billion. So just take as much as you can. Just don't take all." Aubrey gave Onika specific instructions.
They took the money, zipped up their duffle bags and jackets because they put money in their jackets as well, and ran back to the car leaving no traces just like they planned.
Once the couple were back in the car, they unzipped their jackets letting the money fall out.
"Holy fucking shit Aubrey we did it! We robbed the bank leaving no traces!" Onika squealed with joy.
"Yo look at all this money we got. We gotta go now so we can make it to Mexico before the cops find out."
"Nah baby I got something else in mind. Look the bank manager just opened the bank."
"Aubrey. I don't know what's going through your head right now, but you better have a plan."
"It's almost 8 o'clock Nika. Look when the bank manager sees that the money is gone, they're gonna call the cops."
"And they're gonna chase after us."
"And we'll go from there."
"What do you mean?"
"Onika listen. When they chase after us they're gonna have all the helicopters and shit coming after us because we're wanted in America. So while we're on the run I'll drive us somewhere and we'll split up. I'll take my duffle and run while you drive across the border. I'll meet you there."
"Aubrey I'm not losing you. No."
"Onika we have to do this. I promise that I'll come back to you." Aubrey wiped Onika's tears. They both shared a passionate kiss getting lost in their own world. Their moment was soon ruined when Aubrey heard sirens.
"Come on. We gotta go." He put the car in drive and started to drive around the back, where they had entered the bank.
"Aubrey don't tell me that you're about to do what you're about to do." Onika out her hands over her face.
"Yup." Aubrey revved up the car and went full speed ahead going through the bank. The car crashed through the front entrance and he turned a corner. Onika screamed in fear.
"ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY?!" Onika went off. She almost pissed her pants. The cops followed behind them.
"Crazy about you." He simple said and started to drive faster. Trying to lose the cops.
"Aubrey there's a bridge right there. Park under there and get out. We can split up there because I know a quick way to the border. It's not that far." Onika pointed to a bridge.
He did as told and they got out the car. Onika made her way to the drivers seat and Aubrey gave her a quick kiss and a hug. After they said their "I love you's" they went their seperate ways.
Onika slipped on her sunglasses and started the car.
"Let's get this show on the road." She sighed deeply.

Onika drove as fast as she could trying to get away from the cops and trying to make it to the border.
Aubrey on the other hand ran left and right. He was fast on foot and he escaped the cops.
"Now I gotta lose the helicopters." He mumbled and continued running.

After being in the run for about an hour, Onika was driving down the highway. She seen Aubrey running and stopped so she can let him get in.
"Oh my gosh." She couldn't get her words together.
"Just drive!" Aubrey yelled catching his breath.
"The border is like two minutes away." Onika said and continued driving.

Once they crossed the border, it was it. The cops stopped noticing the border line and Onika and Aubrey got out the car smirking.
"Shit!" One of the cops yelled.
The couple laughed before grabbing their duffle bags full of money and shared a high-five.
"WE DID IT!" Onika shouted in victory as Aubrey lifted her up off the ground and spun her around. He set Onika back on the ground and shoved his tongue in ther mouth. The police officers just stood their with their guns in their hands with the "Oh shit." Looks on their faces.
Aubrey and Onika grabbed their duffle bags full of money and slung it over their shoulders. They intertwined fingers and started walking away. Leaving the BMW where it was.
"ADIÓS AMIGOS!" Onika shouted to the police officers before she started cackling.
"Our mission was a success baby." Aubrey smiled.
"I can't wait to get settled and count the money."
"I love you Onika."
"I love you more Aubrey."
